Celtic full-back Emilio Izaguirre has urged the club to sign him up for the rest of his career.

“I`d rather play and fight for titles and win trophies” – Emilio Izaguirre

The 27-year-old Honduras international still has one-year remaining on his current deal at Parkhead and would like nothing better than to significantly extend it.

“If Celtic ask me to sign for many more years, I have no problem with that,” Izaguirre told the Daily Express. “I never want to leave them because they have treated me very well.

“Manager Neil Lennon, the board and the fans have always supported me,” he added. “There are always teams who are interested in you but what good is going to England to fight for a mid-table place? I’d rather play and fight for titles and win trophies and have medals in my house.”
