According to Italian outlet Calciomercato, we could be interested in signing Abel Hernandez from Hull City in the summer.
I’m always a bit wary when it comes to transfer rumours being reported by Italian outlets because I’m never too sure how accurate they are.
Even so, Calciomercato seem to be one of the bigger ones and so we’ll go with it.
For me, I think Hernandez would be an exciting player to have at our club. He’s got power and pace and a good eye for goal, it could mean that another striker leaves though.
Let’s take a look at some of the reaction to the news on Twitter…
🇺🇾 Celtic have reportedly offered Abel Hernandez a three year contract with a salary that will make him the highest paid player in Scotland: https://t.co/yxdUNwbBXN pic.twitter.com/GxrERiNiXz

Is he any good?

More likely to be Rogic away. Doubt we'd play him as a traditional striker, more likely to be the rogic/armstrong role. Good player

How exactly? He’s a striker. Don’t think i’ve ever seen him been used as an attacking midfielder

Dembele gone in the summer then

Great player for Palermo, would certainly do a turn up here. Doubt we’ll bother if dembele stays tho.

The Verdict
As I said, Hernandez is a good player who is similar to Moussa Dembele and Odsonne Edouard in playing style.
With that said, then, it might mean one of the two could be going in the summer and I’d imagine it might be the latter if we decide not to pay for him permanently.
