Celtic summer transfer target John McGinn was in action for Scotland on Thursday night but his performance didn’t impress Hoops fans watching on.

Alex McLeish’s side slipped to a 2-1 defeat away to struggling Israel, with the national team looking like an outfit well below the standards expected of them.

McGinn was poor throughout the 90 minutes up against the likes of Beram Kayal, convincing Celtic fans watching on that he was never good enough to join the club this summer.

The Hoops of course missed out on his signature after he opted to join Aston Villa from Hibs following a protracted transfer battle.

The 23-year-old has had a decent start to the season at club level, but are his performances for the national team proof that Celtic have in fact not made a transfer mistake? Or is he being judged too harshly for the sins of a woeful team under Alex McLeish?

These Celtic supporters took to Twitter on Thursday night to share their thoughts…
