Celtic triumphed again courtesy of a couple of first-half goals against Dundee at Dens Park.

Winger James Forrest was on the end of Kieran Tierney’s early assist for their opener and his twelfth of the campaign.

The similarly recalled Leigh Griffiths then added a second just before the break to move the visitors eleven points clear at the top of the table.

Forrest had already drilled wide during the initial exchanges, while Callum McGregor also struck an upright before the former took advantage of Tierney’s inviting cut-back.

Weekend goalscorer Jonny Hayes was then carried off and replaced by teenager Mikey Johnston following a collision with the also withdrawn Josh Meekings.

The visitors continued to advance with Olivier Ntcham, Tierney and Griffiths each threatening, until the latter accepted the Frenchman’s pass and doubled the advantage near to the break.

There was still enough time remaining during the opening forty-five minutes for youngster Johnston and Forrest to force keeper Elliot Parish into swift action.

Both McGregor and Ntcham saw further opportunities after the interval, while Forrest went close again on the end of a trademark individual run.

Former Celtic duo Darren O’Dea and Paul McGowan had efforts at the other end, with Hoops substitute Johnston later volleying over from another Forrest inspired break.
