Celtic are just a single-victory away from a sixth successive league title after a 2-1 triumph against Dundee at Dens Park.

It took the visitors until approaching the interval before Jozo Simunovic’s effort deflected in off Kevin Gomis. Stuart Armstrong then headed in James Forrest’s cross early in the second period.

Substitute Faissal El Bakhtaoui managed to reduce the deficit with fourteen minutes remaining, but it wasn’t enough to produce a recovery.

Midfielder Armstrong went close early on for the leaders with a free-kick, and also delivered a corner headed wide by Moussa Dembele.

Home keeper Scott Bain next smothered at the feet of the oncoming Scott Sinclair, while Dedryck Boyata’s header was cleared off the line by Paul McGowan before the recalled Simunovic gave the visitors a late first-half lead.

Kevin Holt struck a free-kick directly at Craig Gordon following the break, although it wasn’t long before Armstrong headed in Forrest’s cross from the right to extend the advantage.

Canadian striker Marcus Haber in turn flashed a reply wide, but substitute El Bakhtaoui then drove past Gordon to bring the home side right back into it.

However, it was Dembele sending a low attempt straight at the keeper as the visitors retained their advantage and moved ever-closer to further title honours.
