Celtic are visiting Dundee for an early Boxing Day kick-off at 12.30pm.

The Hoops increased their lead at the top of the table to eight points with a 3-0 weekend victory against second-placed Aberdeen.

However, the quartet of James Forrest, Callum McGregor, Jozo Simunovic and Leigh Griffiths were only amongst their substitutes and are expected to come back into contention.

Otherwise, midfielder Tom Rogic and on loan winger Patrick Roberts remain sidelined, in addition to young full-back Anthony Ralston.

“Even though we’ve won up there a couple of times in my time, we always know it’s going to be a difficult game,” manager Brendan Rodgers told BBC Scotland. “My job as manager is to shape the mentality of the squad and this group of players have an ambition to be the best they can be.

“That’s why they can come in after so many games against a team like Aberdeen, who are fresh, and put in a performance,” he added. “The players recover on Sunday and then we are in on Christmas Day. That’s the price you pay.”

Home winger Roarie Deacon is still out due to a thigh problem, with on loan midfielder Scott Allan not eligible to face his parent club.

James McPake and Craig Wighton are longer-term casualties because of knee injuries, while goalkeeper Scott Bain is another still absent.
