Celtic have been dealt a transfer blow as midfield target Vinicius Souza has been subject to a €5m bid from Turkish Liga side Fenerbache.

It was thought that The Yellow Canaries may have been put off placing a bid for the Brazilian after their recent ventures in the transfer market but after this recent revelation it seems the Hoops may have their work cut out to seal the deal.

According to the Daily Record, Fenerbache have also added a sell on clause to try and sweeten the deal.

The only good news for Celtic is that the Lommel haven’t responded to the offer so there is a chance that Souza could still end up was at Celtic if we match their asking price.

It seems that the Belgian side are looking for between €8-€9m for the player but considering he plays in the second tier, that seems a tad optimistic.

Celtic have been busy so far this week after tying up Benji Siegrist and with the impending transfer of Lanus left back Alexandro Bernabei and Jota, the club are certainly in the mood to add to the squad this summer.

But would Celtic be willing to match the €8m price?

Personally, I can’t see it but you just never know.
