The 38-year-old was unveiled on Friday morning as successor to Neil Lennon at Parkhead. It follows him successfully leading Norwegian side Stromsgodset to the league title last term.
“It was a very easy decision,” Deila told SkySports. “I’m very proud today. It’s been a fantastic day and I felt this was the right move for me now after nine fantastic years at Stromsgodset.
“It’s a fantastic step and I think this is the right step for me now. I feel very confident and comfortable,” he continued. “I feel this is like a family and I feel at home with a lot of the values at this club.”
