Celtic star “absolutely flying” with former Gers man “sick of singing his praises”

|

Odsonne Edouard has done little to draw the attention away from him after a stunning hat-trick on the opening day against Hamilton, much to the frustration of one pundit of a blue persuasion.

Speaking to Football Insider, Alan Hutton, has been effusive in his praise of the Frenchman whilst he continues to be the subject of speculation from several Premier League sides.

So what has Hutton said?

When asked to reflect on Edouard’s performance in the 5-1 win over Hamilton, he said:

“I’m actually sick of singing his praises. Look, he was fantastic – to come back in your first game, score a hat-trick, he’s absolutely flying.

“I thought he was excellent, he’s the main man, not only does he score goals, he links up play, he comes short, brings others into it, gets involved – all-round, his game is at a very high level for someone at such young age.”

So is Hutton correct?

It is easy to forget that Edouard has not long turned 22-years old given the number of performances and, more importantly, goals he has scored for Celtic as he continues to carry the weight of expectation on his relatively young shoulders.

Is Edouard really worth £60m?

Yes

No

No

For a player of his age to be so versatile and have the game intelligence to be able to adapt between different formations without any adverse effect on his performances only backs up calls that, when he does leave Parkhead, his valuation should be upwards of £40million.

He isn’t going to be around forever and players like Edouard don’t grow on trees so Hoops fans should make the most of him while it lasts, there may be other goalscorers but, there is unlikely to be one with as big a transformation from a teenager struggling to find his way, to one who could lead the line for any Champions League side with distinction.
