Celtic have dropped down to third position in the Scottish Premiership table after a disappointing 1-1 draw away to Motherwell tonight.
The evening got off to a fine start at Fir Park with Ryan Christie netting a first half goal to give the recent Scottish League Cup winners the advantage.
However, a disallowed goal, missed chances and a poor Leigh Griffiths penalty eventually cost the Hoops all three points, with the Steelmen snatching a draw with just a few minutes remaining.
After energy sapping performances in Trondheim and at Hampden, Brendan Rodgers opted to rotate the team heavily, but many of the players coming into the side failed to impress.
One of the most criticised was Griffiths, whose general play was well below par, not even taking into account his missed spot kick.
If the manager is going to continue moving Odsonne Edouard in and out of the team then Griffiths will need to improve massively or we could struggle in the final third.
Fans did not enjoy the Scottish international’s performance, taking to Twitter to share their thoughts…

A poor refereeing decision cost us the 3 points. As well as that Leigh Griffiths is not good enough at the moment to be near the squad.

Celtic need a Centre forward. Griffiths never a starting player and French Eddy is a leftie
