Shane Duffy has had a torrid time at Celtic. There is absolutely no denying that. Basic errors and defensive mistakes have cost the Hoops points this season and no one knows it more than the big Irish centr half.
He has also had to deal with personal issues off the field with the recent passing of his father who he was extremely close to and the fact that his family don’t reside with him in Scotland so it is little wonder his form is shot to pieces.
Ex Rangers player, Kevin Kyle, is the latest in a long line of players turned pundit lining up to have a go and he has said that Duffy should “disappear” and let Celtic finish the season positively.
As written in the Glasgow Times, Kyle said, “Shane Duffy has lost all the confidence he had.
“I don’t think he has become a bad player overnight, it’s just not worked out for him.
“For whatever reason, his confidence has been zapped out of him.
“He needs to just disappear, bring in what you can and try to have a positive end to the season – so they can hit the ground running next season. If they don’t, they might be trying to catch Rangers again.”
It’s a comment that will do his confidence no good and coming from an ex professional, Kyle should know better than to try and publicly humiliate a fellow professional.
