For all the talk about Dedryck Boyata over the past couple of weeks, one thing can’t be denied – he had an excellent game for Celtic against Hamilton on Sunday afternoon.
The Belgian defended cruised through the 90 minutes against the visitors, delivering three points Celtic badly needed with a close range finish from a set-piece.
The show of support form his players was clear and despite a pre-match banner protest in opposition to him and a smattering of boos around Celtic Park, it seems about time to move on from what has been a damaging episode for the player and club.
He demonstrated again, despite the lack of real attacking threat from Accies, that he is the best defender at the club.
Many fans were happy to see him perform well and took to Twitter today to share their thoughts on it all…

Wasn’t the best performance today, but the best player on the park today got the goal he deserved, and yeah he will leave in January or sign a pre contract, but before Rodgers came in we wouldn’t have got anything for him either, well played today Boyata 💚💚#wedidntsigndenayer

Boyata was the best player on the park today and he got the goal
I support Celtic which means I support the 11 in the jersey other issues can be dealt with behind closed doors.
