I think it is fair to say, for a first transfer window, Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has done a very good job.

With twelve incomings and generating dressing harmony by getting rid of Odsonne Edouard, Kristoffer Ajer, Ryan Christie and Olivier Ntcham, it will be interesting to see how the team is moulded now Postecoglou is not being weighed down by outside distractions.

With many of the signings unknown quantities, it is always good to get the opinion and insight of a legend of the game on the new signings and former Celtic striker Kenny Dalglish did just that in his column in the Sunday Post.

Dalglish name checked the three deadline day signings by Celtic but singled out one of the Hoops new boys for special praise, “It was a lot busier across the city, where Celtic rounded off their business by adding Georgios Giakoumakis, Jota and Cameron Carter-Vickers on the final day.

“All three look the part, and will increase the quality in the squad.

“I watched Carter-Vickers in action for Tottenham’s reserves in a game against Liverpool and he looked an excellent professional. His attitude was spot-on.

“The day before, he had been an unused sub for the first team, but still travelled to Merseyside in an exemplary frame of mind.

“All in all, if you look at where Celtic were six weeks ago to where they are now, they are clearly in a better place.”

And that is what is required at Celtic Park this season. Professionalism and good attitude.

Two ingredients that were clearly missing in abundance during last season’s dismal league campaign.

The next four months will be interesting as Ange rally puts his stamp on Paradise.
