Daniel Arzani is back at Manchester City to step up his rehab after a long-term injury, but will return to Celtic for pre-season training, as reported by The Daily Record.

Arzani signed on a two-year loan deal last summer after impressing for Australia at the World Cup in Russia, but cruelly suffered an injury just minutes into his debut for the club away to Dundee in October.

Tearing his ACL and having to undergo surgery, he’s been out of action ever since, slowly rebuilding strength in his leg.

The paper say he returned to Lennoxtown last month to take part in light training sessions with the Celtic coaching staff and this week he was spotted at Man City’s luxurious training centre, stepping up his return to action.

He will still be looking to make a Celtic impact next season though and having arrived with a fair bit of hype, fans will be excited to see he can offer on the flanks.

The Hoops will have plenty of options in that regard with Ukrainian international Maryan Shved also due to join up with the squad in preparation for summer qualifiers.

James Forrest is a player of the year candidate this term and Scott Sinclair has scored plenty of goals, but a new generation is set to push them for a first-team place, competition that will be a benefit to everyone in the squad.
