The Daily Record has reported that Rangers are in the process of “tearing up” the pitch at Ibrox which “ends hope of a quick fire restart” to the Scottish Premiership season.

Keith Jackson writing for the Record claims the “exclusive” story as Rangers look to repair the threadbare surface before football kicks off again.
With FIFA and UEFA now in unison claiming that leagues should be played to a finish, despite a report by the BBC, it now looks as though Hoops fans could see their stars back in action sooner rather than later.
The Dutch and Belgian leagues have both been warned against calling their respective seasons without finishing all their fixtures, a situation that the SPFL will be keeping a keen eye on.
With no action to write about, the Record’s post attracted the eye of Celtic fans up and down the country as an opportunity to mock their city rivals which couldn’t be wasted.
Rip up the pitch so can’t host games when resume so try a void…. Gerrard must be so proud being associated with this bunch of dimwits pic.twitter.com/Xfd7eHWFhg

With no football expected until July, and with the article even claiming that the work is expected to last four weeks, it just means that the pitch will be in better condition when football returns and Celtic look to finally seal 9-in-a-row with a derby win at Ibrox.
