Fans group, The Celtic Trust, have warned the Celtic board that there is “rebellion in the air” if there are not more changes to the structure of the club and how it is run.

The group says not all the failings are down to manager, Neil Lennon, and that more people MUST carry the can for the shambles of this season.

The statement read , “The Celtic directors are ultimately responsible for the performance of the club.

“That’s where the buck starts – it usually stops with the
manager but it starts at the top and it should end there.

“Four of the five non-executive directors – Ian
Bankier, Tom Allison, Brian Wilson and Dermot Desmond – have been there for more than nine years.

“They seem to be focusing on their achievements prior to the collapse of the team to justify everything.

“It has all been stale and it reminds me of the old board in terms of the sense of entitlement and remoteness from the fans.

“The supporters are entitled to criticise them and to ask for changes. We effectively pay their wages so they can’t argue with that, even though they might not like it.

“The Celtic Trust will have nothing to do with
boycotts or refusing to buy season tickets.

“The odds are decent there will be changes in boardroom because Celtic know there’s rebellion in the air.”
