As Celtic gear up to face FC Midtjylland in the second leg of their Champions League qualifier tonight, former Celtic defender Mark Wilson reckons Ange Postecoglou has not only a dilemma on who should be his Number 1, but also who should lead the line.

As speculation mounts around Odsonne Edouard and his proposed £20m move to Brighton, Wilson, speaking on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, reckons that Postecoglou must take the gamble on Edouard, even though his head may be turned,  “I think it is at risk when you’ve got players who have perhaps getting their heads turned, and and have visions of leaving the club and there’s so much speculation, I think as a risk to keep them in and about the squad.

“I said a couple of weeks ago, that if as a manager like Ange Postecoglou I’d like to get that tied up, and the players away, we want to be away, and the guys who want to stay in and part of the project, they’d be in my team.

“But Celtic are going through a difficult period, at the moment, and there’s no doubt in my mind Edouard is still the best striker at the club.

“I would understand the argument more if Ajeti was maybe banging in the goals and he was sharp in preseason, but he doesn’t.

“So for me I would take the gamble. I would play Edouard and hope you get a decent performance out of him.

“Because he can change the game right away, set pieces or just his coolness in front of goal.

“He hasn’t set the world alight in preseason, but he’s the best striker at the club.”
