That was a deal I wasn’t anticipating tonight, it’s being reported that Celtic midfielder Youssouf Mulumbu has made a loan switch out to Kilmarnock tonight ahead of the closure of the January transfer window.

The 32-year-old moved to Kilmarnock back in November 2017 following his release by English side Norwich City and after 18 starting appearances for them, with two further showings from the substitutes bench and the return of one goal, he moved to Parkhead at the end of the last summer window.

He’s only actually made two starting appearances for manager Brendan Rodgers, with an additional substitute showing but his last appearance came way back in November and according to a report from Sky Sports he has penned a deal seeing him return to them on a loan until the end of the current campaign.

He’s clearly out of favour but he did sign a two year deal over the summer so getting him out for games to offset our arrivals on a financial front this January makes a lot of sense.
