As quoted by Belgian outlet DH in an interview, former Celtic player Logan Bailly has admitted he understands why Celtic let him go back when they did.

The goalkeeper never really managed to force his way into the side and with Craig Gordon in front of him and at his highest level, it was always going to be hard to get into the team.

Indeed, his contract ran down and the Bhoys decided to let him go, rather than keep him on and that, at the time, was not really a surprise.

For sure, it may well have hurt Bailly a bit to not be wanted by the club but he has said that he understands why he was let go at the time.

He said:

“I understand why Celtic didn’t extend my deal. It was better for me to go and play elsewhere, but no one can take away my four trophies from me.”

It’s little surprise that the goalkeeper was let go at the time and he is currently a free agent after a spell in Belgium so it remains to be seen where he is going to end up next.
