We all remember Roger Mitchell yes? The  former SPL Chief Executive that failed to convince Celtic and Rangers to sign up to SPL TV which then led to the resignation of the ten other SPL clubs from the league. That Roger Mitchell? Yeah him.

The would be buyer of Celtic once proclaimed, ““What is truly astonishing is how big a club Celtic is and how many people are totally invested in the club.

“One day I’ll try to get some private equity money together and buy it, and give these good people what they deserve.

“But not today.”

And for a prospective buyer of the club, he has a strange way of endearing himself to the fans. Not content with denigrating star striker Kyogo Furuhashi, he has taken to twitter once more to stick the boot in the club AND the fans.

Mitchell claims the fans damaged the clubs international brand after the fans inability to see out a minutes silence.

To start on that, many Twitter users rightly point out that the poppy means nothing to many outside these shores but where I do think he has a point, that nationally it is not a good look for the club that the fans can’t see out a minutes silence.

That should be a given.

But where he has clearly missed the mark is that the fans are only obsessed with beating them. I presume he means Rangers.

They are our rivals Roger. Of course we are. Every single football fan up and down the country is obsessed with beating their rivals. Isn’t that what rivalry is all about?

Oh and just for the record, Celtic fans REMIND them of 2012. Because by the looks of it, you are a denier of history and that needs to be hammered home every single time they deny their debts but claim their history.

Can’t have it both ways.

And what exactly are the fans against again? Remind us.

Bigotry? Racism? Poverty? Homelessness? If that’s what he’s on about then I am all in!

Roger needs to have a lie down.
