I’m not too sure how I feel about this if I am honest.

With Celtic being linked with various players in this transfer window, one name that continually crops up is Zinedine Ferhat.

Vital Celtic reported on the links between the club and player just last night and it seems that there has been an overnight development that may well be a major factor in determining the Algerian’s destination this winter.

According to reports from France, [via Football Scotland], Ferhat has failed to report for training yesterday amid claims in France that he is trying to force a move to the Hoops.

Should Celtic sign Martin Boyle from Hibs?

NO

There is also reported interest in France from Montpellier and St Etienne but it does seem that Glasgow is Ferhat’s preferred destination this window.

The reason why I am uneasy about the 28 year old tactics in trying to force a move is,  Ange Postecoglou has done a brilliant job in settling what was a fractured dressing room when he took over in June last year.

If these reports are true,  Celtic doesn’t need a player that could be a potential disruption. And who’s to say that in the future if another move was to develop for the Algerian playmaker that he wouldn’t deploy the same tactics to get what he wants.

Celtic should walk away from this and let the other two Ligue 1 clubs pursue their interest in him.
