Celtic midfielder Olivier Ntcham is the subject of fresh interest from Serie A side Torino, according to The Daily Record.

The Italian outfit were actually one of the teams who were reported to want him last summer, before Celtic won the race to sign the French U21 international from Manchester City.

The Record say that despite Torino’s interest, he is not for sale this summer from Celtic’s perspective.

That’s good news considering his important to Brendan Rodgers’ side right now.

The Frenchman has made 53 appearances for the Hoops since arriving, scoring 11 goals and creating a further seven assists, not bad numbers for a player who sits centrally in the midfield area.

His range of passing, vision and ability to dictate the tempo of a match makes him one of the club’s outstanding talents and holding onto him is absolutely key if we’re thinking about progressing in Europe this season.

Alongside Scott Brown he’s formed the best midfield partnership in the country and while the likelihood is he moves on from Celtic one day, considering his potential, that won’t be for another season at least.

Still just 22 years of age and enjoying his football, Glasgow is the best place for him right now.
