Jeremie Frimpong has completed his £11.5m move to German Bundesliga cracks Bayer Leverkusen this afternoon and the youngster and his Rudi Voller, Leverkusen’s Sporting Managing Director, couldn’t hide their delight at the move.

Speaking to Leverkusen’s Official Website, Frimpong said, “I’m totally looking forward to the Bundesliga and, of course, this club in particular. Bayer 04 Leverkusen have regularly been in the Champions League and the Europa League.

“They demonstrated their ambition on the European stage last year in the two games against Glasgow Rangers,”

“I really like the offensive, fast and technical style of play at Bayer 04 and I hope I can soon help the team.

Rudi Voller was gushing in his praise for the young Dutchman when he said, “We have completed a transfer completely in the spirit of Bayer 04 with the signing of Jeremie Frimpong.

Young, accomplished on the ball, versatile, with top pace and a very lively style of play – players like that fit in with the way we want to perform on the pitch,”

“If Jeremie continues in the same way in the coming years with the consistency he has shown up to now then he could be an important part of our team.”

Leverkusen’s Sporting Director, Simon Rolfes, was also excited about the new recruit, adding, “In Jeremie Frimpong, we have been able to sign a player with a great facility to develop and this again is a forward-looking transfer for Bayer 04. He’s technically strong, incredibly quick and has the desire to go forwards,”

“Over the last year and a half, Jeremie has proved himself at an absolute top club in the physically very challenging Scottish league and in European competition. That important experience at Celtic, but above all his footballing ability, make him a very attractive young player.”
