Celtic boss Neil Lennon admits he could end up disappointed in his attempts to further strengthen the squad during the latest transfer window.

“It is a very frustrating period for everyone, particularly myself” – Neil Lennon

Lennon has distanced himself with some
of the names being linked with a possible switch to Parkhead, including Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Leigh Griffiths, Peterborough United’s Lee Tomlin and Hapoel Tel Aviv’s Omer Damari, plus Middlesbrough’s Australian international defender Rhys Williams.

“I don’t expect anything in the January transfer window, but I’m hoping we will get one or two players in before the end of next week,” Lennon told BBC Scotland. “But it is a very frustrating period for everyone, particularly myself.

“Yesterday, a chase for a player ended quite abruptly so that became a source of frustration,” he continued. “But it is part and parcel of the January window.”

Meanwhile, Lennon also conceded there had been no significant progress in trying to resolve the futures of both Georgios Samaras and Joe Ledley.
