“Great news”, “Here for 10-in-a-row” – Celtic fans react to speculation linking star man away from Hoops

Celtic's Odsonne Edouard celebrates scoring their first goal in Europa League - Round of 32 First Leg v FC Copenhagen

The Daily Record has claimed that Borussia Dortmund “aren’t convinced” by Celtic’s Odsonne Edouard and won’t be making a move for the £30million rated striker.

The report claims that Dortmund watched Edouard on several occasions but decided against making a bid with the club’s valuation said to have put the German side off, they went on to sign Erling Haaland from RB Salzburg and with nine goals in eight league appearances since his arrival in January, it’s fair to say they won’t be regretting not making the move for the Scottish Premiership’s top goalscorer.

Edouard has been the centre of speculation from across Europe this season and a host of Premier League clubs are said to be monitoring his situation with there being no sign of him signing a new contract any time soon.

Hoops fans took to Twitter in response to the “story” which is the latest in an attempt to fill the void left by the absence of any football.

Celtic will be bracing themselves for potential bids when football returns and the transfer window opens, having been at the Hoops for three years and won everything possible, it will be hard to persuade the talented youngster to stay – regardless of the historical importance that next season brings.
