Celtic Word On The Tweet

‘Gutted’, ‘Beyond me’ – Many Celtic fans reckon impressive star was robbed at POTY awards

|

Some Celtic fans feel James Forrest should have picked up a player of the year award at last night’s club ceremony.

Callum McGregor picked up the club and players’ Player Of The Year awards after an exceptional season in the heart of the Hoops midfield, a fine achievement indeed.

McGregor has been superb throughout the campaign, scoring six goals and providing 13 assists, as well as providing an all-round midfield game that has given the team so much drive and stability on a consistent basis.

Forrest though has had his best season in a Celtic shirt, scoring a magnificent 17 goals and creating a frankly ridiculous 20 assists. No-one in the Hoops time has directly contributed to more goals than he has.

The winger has matured into one of our most important players after a few years of frustrating form. For him to miss out on awards again is a real shame.

These fans have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts on it all…
