‘He has something to offer’ – John Hartson calls for more involvement for Celtic ace

Ryan Christie celebrates a Celtic goal

Celtic have been going from strength to strength in recent weeks, both as a team and with regards to individual performers. Brendan Rodgers clearly has managed to turn a corner, and his squad are living proof of that.

One player that has been particularly impressive as of late is Ryan Christie. He’s had a difficult route into the team at Celtic, but the 23-year-old has forced his way into Rodgers’ plans in recent matches, and John Hartson thinks that he deserves to stay there.

In a column for the Evening Times, Hartson said: “It is up to him where his career goes next but I do think that he has something to offer at the minute”.

“He looks physically stronger, he has a bit of pace and he’ll be pleased with the three goals in the last week”, he added.

Christie’s talent has been clear for all to see for a while now, but only recently has he been able to put that into practice. The proof, as they say, is in the pudding, and the goals that he’s managed to bag lately are evidence that he’s coming good.

There’s no denying that we’ve improved as Christie has come into the team, and whilst it’s too early to say just how influential he has been in our recent run, he’s undeniably made an impact.

Now it’s up to him to take that to the next level. It’s easy to do well when the team is playing well. It will be interesting to see how he continues to develop, but as Harton says, he certainly deserves more of a chance.
