Celtic fans have been left counting the cost of a bruising derby defeat to Rangers this weekend, losing 1-0 to Steven Gerrard’s side at Ibrox on Saturday.
The Hoops were soundly beaten in the Scottish Premiership clash, the first loss to the Ibrox side for a number of years.
The result was bad enough but the nature of the defeat left many supporters scratching their heads about where this Celtic side goes next under Brendan Rodgers.
The manager’s team selection was suspect, with Olivier Ntcham and Scott Brown both starting the fixture, much to the frustration of fans.
The performance of Brown was particular sore point. The captain looked well off the pace and a shadow of the dominating presence that has lit up this fixture in recent seasons.
Some now feel he should not be relied upon and phased out of the starting eleven, with many preferring Callum McGregor plays consistently in the middle of the park.
Is it time to say goodbye to the long serving captain?
These fans took to Twitter this weekend to share their thoughts…
Scott Brown has been a huge player for Celtic for the past few years.
Even though his form has been poor recently I still thought he should have started yesterday, I was wrong.
Despite everything he has done for the club, continuing to have him in the starting 11 will harm us.

@ClydeSSB no doubt about it we were beaten however Boyata needs to go & soon! Also as much as Scott brown has done for Celtic he’s was a mile off the pace today he needs to step down & give McGregor his spot in the team!!!!

Said it before and I’ll say it again, Scott Brown is finished. He’s done. Captain or not it’s time for him to go. Don’t think he won a tackle or found a Celtic player with a pass all day. And that’s your captain

Scott Brown & Lustig have been good over the years but both are finished.
Ntcham, Boyata, Sinclair & Ralston all need to be moved with them

Scott Brown is finished, we don’t need to slate him, he’s been a fantastic player & captain for us & in my eyes is a legend, it’s time for McGregor to play his position every game
