“He is utterly unworthy of playing for Celtic” – Pundit doesn’t hold back

|

Pundit and journalist, Hugh Keevins, pulled no punches on last night’s Clyde Superscoreboard with a damning verdict on Celtic’s £4.5m keeper, Vasilis Barkas.

Keevins says a rebuild will need to take place in the summer and Celtic need to start the process with looking for a new Number One.

Barkas has failed to impress the Celtic support this season with his displays but he still retains the No1 Jersey.

With Bain and Hazard seemingly not filling the manager with confidence, Keevins is adamant that a goalkeeper MUST be a priority for the Hoops in the summer transfer window, “He is utterly unworthy of playing for Celtic and when the rebuild begins there’ll be an exodus of players in the summertime.

“A rebuild will have to take place. And they’ll need to get a goalkeeper because with the greatest respect, Connor hazard wouldn’t fill me with any confidence at all.

“Bain is clearly out of the picture now and Barkas will never be a Celtic goalkeeper.

“So they’ve got three on the books, none who will play on a regular basis, and the rebuild will need to begin with a goalkeeper.”

There are still plenty of games left for Barkas to turn that opinion round but as yet, we have yet to see any glimpse of the goalkeeper that persuaded the Parkhead board to shell out a record fee for a ‘keeper.
