What a performance last night.

From a side that had players that were either making their full debut, European debut or even just getting minutes under their belts, every player in that Celtic side should be proud of that performance last night.

A 3-2 win against any team from La Liga is a great result never mind the third placed team in the league that had just beaten Barcelona the previous weekend.

But to do it with a threadbare squad and so much inexperience in the side is something quite remarkable.

Tom English, speaking on BBC Sportsound, was waxing lyrical about one particular player and the performance and delivered an interesting stat that will leave the Celtic fans excited for the future, “It was it was great craic. Really, really great fun. Loads of good stuff in the game. Loads of incidents, loads of goals. Loads of chances.

“Shots backing off the woodwork. Missed sitters. Brilliant victory for Celtic.

“They had nine players 22 years of age or younger on the field at various times tonight.

“And that really does augur well. And many of them really stood up.  All of them really stood up well actually.

Urhogide again, I was watching him closely. I’m really interested in him. He looks a real athlete. Incredible pace. Very, very raw.

“But I’m really intrigued to see how he gets on because he looks like he could be it could be a fine player for Celtic.

“Scales and Shaw they all did well.  Montgomery. One one teenager in Montgomery, but a very, very young squad, and then they’ve turned over at a really good side.

“Really really good side. And they’ve done it by entertaining and that crowd will be buzzing.”

The future for the Celtic first team certainly bodes well as Ange shows he clearly has faith in his youngsters and if they continue to progress at this rate, the club has a great future ahead of itself in the youth department.
