‘He should not play’ – Many Celtic fans don’t want Lennon to start popular star at Ibrox

|

Celtic fans are worried about starting defender Kieran Tierney tomorrow in case it further aggravates his injury problems.

Neil Lennon claimed in his pre-match press conference on Friday that the player was operating at 70% fitness last week in the build up to tomorrow’s big derby match at Ibrox.

However, many feel that no risks should be taken when it comes to his health and don’t want him playing until after his scheduled operation at the end of the season.

Tierney is one of the players who has played almost every game he’s been available for over the last few seasons, which is untenable going forward considering that could amount to more than 50 matches per campaign.

The left-back is already suffering from burn out and considering he is still just 21 years old, he must be given proper rest or it will severely hinder his development.

Supporters are so concerned they feel he shouldn’t start a derby match, which everyone obviously wants to win, taking to Twitter to share their thoughts yesterday…
