There has been a lot reported on Sead Haksabanovic over the last few days.

Mostly about if and when he is set to sign for Celtic and by all accounts, it looks like that move will be confirmed this week as Ange looks to tie up his eighth summer signing [Daily Record].

And at just 23 years old, the Montenegro forward has already had quite the career. But not in the way you would think.

At just 16 years old he went on a week-long trial at Manchester United [Espressen] and also Liverpool, Chelsea, Aston Villa and Manchester City [Fotbolldirekt].

He then got his move from Halmstads to West Ham in 2017 [BBC] and after three years at the club, he failed to make a single first-team appearance.

Loan spells to Malaga and Norkopping eventually led to a permanent move to the Swedes [West Ham] until he finally moved onto Rubin Kazan in 2021.

Haksabanovic was then suspended from football until June this year as a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine and then found himself on loan at Djurgardens where he made 11 appearances, scoring 2 goals.

Now, remember, he is just 23 years old, how was he regarded in Sweden?

Speaking on a 67 Hail Hail, Swedish journalist Oskar Mansson said of Haksabanovic, “He was a wonderkid, you can say,  but in his career, he has made a lot of strange decisions in my opinion.

“And I think he would be at a bigger club and with a higher status right now if he had taken better decisions in the last years.”

So it seems that with the right direction, Haksabanovic has the potential of being an extremely good player for Celtic and in Ange, who better is there in the game to help him to refocus his game to get his career back on track?
