Many Celtic fans are not buying into reports that the Hoops are about to secure a loan deal for Leicester City defender Filip Benkovic.
The Daily Mail reported on Monday that the Hoops were interested in bringing the Croatian youth international to Celtic Park this summer despite the English Premier League outfit shelling out £13m for him just weeks ago.
Despite that investment, it’s thought that the player is far down the defensive pecking order in Claude Puel’s squad and that he’ll need first-team action to continue his development this season.
The 6ft 4in centre-back made his debut for the club on Tuesday night, coming off the bench in League Cup action against lower-league side Fleetwood Town.
As last-minute signings go, we could do a lot worse than the former Dinamo Zagreb man, who picked up plenty of senior experience in his homeland, including in continental competition.
