I have covered this guy a few times on my site but today, has to be without doubt, THE worst interview I’ve read from him.

The fountain of knowledge of all things Scottish football, Gabby Agbonlahor, was interviewed by Football Insider in what I can only describe as a car crash of a piece.

Not content with disrespecting Celtic new boy, James McCarthy, he also goes on to embarrass himself with his complete lack of knowledge on the Livingston v Celtic fixture by claiming not only are Celtic a guaranteed win, he had the Hoops at home as well.

Remember when the former Villa man tipped Ryan Christie to sign a new contract?

And also that cracker when he said the Celtic fans will get Postecoglou sacked?

And the time when he said Martin O’Neill will become the next Director of Football for Celtic?

Yeah. Fountain of knowledge this guy is.

Agbonlahor said of McCarthy, “He’s an average player, to be honest. I played against him a few times while he was at Wigan and he’s an average player.

“He does some things well but Celtic for me have got better midfielders.

“Maybe he’s one that comes out the team and is then in and out of the side.

“It’s worrying times for Celtic. They lost at the weekend.

“Always, over the years, you look at the Scottish league and think ‘Celtic v Livingston? Guaranteed Celtic win’.

“For people who bet, you bet on Celtic and Rangers to win and then Real Madrid and Barcelona. Football’s changing, these teams are not getting it their own way.”

If Agbonlahor did one single bit of research on the fixture he would have known that the Tony Macaroni Arena is a venue Celtic have struggled at for years to get a win.

Even when Brendan Rodgers’ team was rampant, the Hoops still couldn’t buy a win there.

Hardly a guaranteed win, that and the Hoops were playing away and not at home, he hasn’t covered himself in glory.

However, I’m sure Agbonlahor’s stack of medals out score McCarthy’s right? Maybe someone should ask him that in his next interview.
