Celtic fans did not enjoy the performance of Emilio Izaguirre tonight, despite the team winning 2-0 away to St Mirren.
The Hoops are closing in on an eighth league title and Timo Weah’s first half header sent the team on their way to victory, before a returning Ryan Christie rounded off the victory with a late effort.
The manager has now guided the team to five wins from six in all competitions, remaining undefeated.
Fans though didn’t quite enjoy one of his selections this evening after Emilio Izaguirre played in place of Kieran Tierney, who picked up a knock against Rangers on Sunday.
The Honduran international had a difficult night having not featured since a 2-0 win over Hibernian at the start of February. That lack of match fitness was apparent and supporters were left wanting more from someone in the position.
His contract is up at the end of the season and on this showing you wouldn’t think he’ll be offered a new one.
Celtic badly need real back-up and competition for that left-back slot to better protect Kieran Tierney moving forward.
These fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on Izaguirre’s performance tonight…
For all the possession that Izzy has had, he's done nothing with it.
I'd hook him.— G (@GJS2010) April 3, 2019
OMG I’m sorry I think Izzy is done for celtic ????????♀️

Ad happily get McGregor in at left back for the last 30. Izaguirre is giving me brain damage…

Christie, Edouard , Weah , McGregor , Ager, Forrest, Brown. All get pass marks. Burke , Izzy , Ntcham poor.

Izzy and Lustig have been very poor. If Eduoard was playing instead of Burke, we’d be 3-0 up easy by now
— Daniel (@Kitson67) April 3, 2019
Simunovic, Ntcham, Burke, Izzy all rotten
Change it the fuck up.
