He was probably one of THE best players in the country when he was on his game.

Olivier Ntcham  probably has had the strangest career of any Celtic player that I can remember in recent history.

Once idolised by the Celtic support for his part in the famous 2-1 Europa League win at Lazio almost two years ago, the rapid decline of the Frenchman under Neil Lennon was incredible.

Once touted for a £14m move to Porto, the Frenchman didn’t really endear himself to the Hoops support when, at the time, he said of the collapsed move, “Celtic have given me a lot but (leaving for Portugal) is the best solution for my development.

“With all due respect for my opponents, if the level in front is not high, you do not progress.”

When this move never materialised, Ntcham was never the same player again.

In a failed loan move to Marseille where Andres Villas Boas amazingly resigned BECAUSE of the transfer to his club was done without his knowledge, Ntcham really was on a hiding to nothing.

But, after being released on a free by Celtic, the 25 year old seems to have found peace, and form, at his new club Swansea City, where the dynamic midfielder is earning rave reviews not just from the press, but his fans.

In a video released on Twitter, the fans are crowded in a bar already lauding their new favourite as they sing a song about him to the tune of ‘She’s Electric’ by Oasis.

Clearly the fans are loving what they are seeing from their new boy but they had better hope that a move to a bigger club doesn’t fall through because we all know how that will end.
