This is a story that simply will not go away. With the expected departure of Odsonne Edouard to happen within the coming week, Celtic will be looking to beef up their attacking options before the transfer window closes.

Former Celtic full back, Mark Wilson, believes the answer to replace the Edouard question is right on our doorstep and Celtic should be looking no further than Hibs striker, Kevin Nesbit, to fill the inevitable void Edouard will leave.

Speaking on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, Wilson says that the young Scotland striker would do well at Celtic Park surrounded by better players, “I’m a big fan of Kevin Nesbit. I think he’s a terrific young player.

“I think he served his apprenticeship at the lower levels but has shown that he can score goals consistently at each club he goes to.

“He’s stepped up a level. Showed he can handle it. He stepped up to a international level, scored goals as well.

“You put him in a team with better players, he gets more chances. He knows where the net is.

“You even see his finish last week for the Hibs goal. Very cool. I think Celtic could do worse than put a bid in for him.”

“I think when you see his attributes, and you at look everything he’s got. Quite big. Bigger than I thought actually.

“Decent in the air and can handle himself strong with his back to goal but quick as well.

“And as I said very cool in front of goal. I think he’s got all the attributes you need to be a good striker for Celtic.”

I have to admit, I am also a fan of Nesbit and if Celtic can get him for £4m after selling Edouard for £18m+, that would be a fantastic bit of business by the club.
