Former Celtic defender, Alan Stubbs, has said the next manager that takes over at Paradise MUST have a connection with the fans.  With the talk amongst the fans being that the club has lost connection with the supporters, it is probably more vital now that the new man put in place is open and has an affinity with open dialogue, as the  disconnect between the club and fans has never been so huge since the Kelly era in the 90’s.

Stubbs, who won a Treble with the Hoops in 2001 and was part of the squad that stopped our old Glasgow rivals winning their ten in a row, has also slammed the Celtic players and claimed they have lacked fight and accused them of complacency.

Speaking to popular fan podcasters, The Celtic Exchange, Stubbs, when replying to hosts, Mif and Tino, was frank in his views when he said, “I think this is going to be the crucial questions that whoever’s going to be in control of of the selection for the new manager, whether it’s Dermot Desmond or whether it’s the head of football.

“They’ve (Rangers) had a structure in terms of what they’ve done whereas Celtic have looked like a team where think that they are the better team and all they have to do is turn up on the pitch and go and go and play.

You know, it’s okay to saying names (when asked about who should come in), but I think one thing the managers got to do, whoever it’s gonna be, he’s got to have a connection with the fans. He’s got to be someone that the fans can can relate to and  at times in the season I think in the couple of the derby games, I think they’ve been out fought and Rangers have looked like they’ve had a plan to combat Celtic.
