Under Ange Postecoglou we have seen a magnificent transformation of players form the team.

With a rebuild expected to take over a year in some quarters, the past few games have shown that maybe Celtic are not as far away from their rivals across the city as some say they are.

With Ryan Christie, Tom Rogic and Anthony Ralston all looking like new signings this season, the Celtic supporters are looking forward to further additions to enhance the first team squad.

One player that has been consistent for a number of years is long serving winger, James Forrest. Under Ange, there is no need for a transformation but imagination. Imagine what Forrest will do to teams under Ange once he gets to full fitness?!

Forrest suffered some injury difficulties during the Ronny Delia era and looked a cert to be on his way out of the club until the arrival of Brendan Rodgers heralded a new are for the Scotland international.

Since then, Forrest has been an ever present in the Celtic side and has been a major part of the teams success of the last ten years.

It is no coincidence that Celtic had a trophyless season the year Forrest was out injured. That’s how important he is to the team.

But yet, according to Davie Provan on Go Radio, Forrest is still yet to convince a section of the fans that he is the ‘real deal’, “His numbers are terrific. It’s amazing James Forrest has been with Celtic this length of time, and there are a lot of supporters who are still not convinced about him.

“If you look at the number of caps he’s got.

“He’s played at the very highest level for Celtic for a long number of years.

“Regular goal scorer and good record and assists and he’s not convinced everyone  he is the real deal.”

This was an argument during his injury years that some quarters of the Celtic fans used to use as a weapon to beat him with, but surely now, no Celtic fans hold the view that Forrest is not  the real deal? Surely?

This is something I expect from pundits from across the other side of the city, but supposed Celtic men? Good grief!
