So I set up my usual daily routine and scanned some Celtic podcasts to see if I could find any Celtic related news or opinions I could share with you.

And I came across the Celtic Daft podcast. It’s part of the Football Daft franchise hosted by radio presenters Grado, Chris and Ryan.

Today’s episode was hosted by Chris and Ryan and the boys were discussing the Dom McKay scenario, the upcoming Real Betis match and reviewing the latest 3-0 win against Ross County.

With Kyogo missing, this gave the much maligned Albian Ajeti the chance to show that he has what it takes to make the grade at Paradise and to all intents and purposes, he took his chance with two good finishes.

Speaking on the show, Chris wasn’t impressed and strangely used a stat that Hugh Keevins came up with to beat the Celtic forward with even although he scored two goals, “I was looking for a response after the Rangers game, and I think we got it. It wasn’t as emphatic a response as you would have wanted.

“There’s something missing there. And I’m telling you now, Ajeti is not good enough. He’s not good enough.

“He doesn’t offer anything outside the box. And I know that he’s a striker and he’s coming here to score goals and I know he scored two goals.

“I seen a stat the day that he only had 15 touches in the full ninety minutes.

“He offers nothing else for the team and he offers nothing for the hold up play, He is not good enough and if hopefully the the big Greek guy gets to full fitness, big Giakoumakis, gets to full fitness quickly because if Kyogo’s out for an extended period of time, then we are going to struggle.”

What a strange argument to use but I suppose when I heard the Old F*rm term being used in a Celtic podcast, that should have been a giveaway.

Two goals with fifteen touches is now deemed not good enough.

And I get the argument about his work rate, I really do, but Ajeti isn’t that type of player. His job is to put the ball in the back of the net and that is exactly what he did.

I remember when no one used to complain about Edouard’s work rate when he was scoring for fun. Strange times we live in.
