“He’s one name that keeps cropping up” – Talksport pundit on Hoops ace

|

It seems this is a rumour that simply will not go away. The Odsonne Edouard transfer saga rumbles on with talk of more interest from Leicester City for the Celtic star.

The Foxes boss, Brendan Rodgers, is well aware of Edourd’s contract situation and with the Celtic board dropping his price by a quarter, this will no doubt be a tempting solution to replace Jamie Vardy at a very reasonable price.

Talksports transfer expert, Alex Crook said, “One name that keeps coming up in conversations with people close to Leicester is Odsonne Edouard at Celtic.

“He’s in the last 18 months of his contract, is reluctant to sign a new deal and could be available for £20m.

“That looks a shrewd bit of business for me, and they do need back-up and even a long-term successor to Jamie Vardy, so watch that one between now and the end of the window.”

“Rodgers has played down Leicester’s chances of signing any players this window, but I think what this does show is that they are actively scouring the market.”

As Edouard’s contract runs down, so does his value and the Hoops board will be looking to cash in to make as much profit on the £9m they shelled out to get him to Paradise.
