As the doubt on Celtic striker, Odsonne Edouard’s, future continues, radio pundits Alex Rae and Hugh Keevins reckon the Hoops hitman upturn in form is for one reason only.  Edouard is playing his way out of Celtic Park.

The big Frenchman has been on a prolific goal scoring run.  He had bagged eight goals in his last six appearances for Celtic but has scored 20 goals overall for the season so far.

Keevins, speaking on last nights Superscoreboard, reckons his upsurge in form is solely down to Edouard having an eye on the Parkhead exit door, “I think he is playing for a move. I also think it’s just as well for Celtic that he has scored as many goals as he has done as he’s scored 15 league goals. He’s the top league goal scorer in the Premiership and there isn’t even another Celtic player in the top 10! So that’s how valuable Odsonne Edouard’s goals have been.

“But Celtic are now in a position where they have to sell them in the summer. His contract is running down. Celtic have to cash in on the fact that he’s looking terrific player once again. And they have to compensate for the COVID-19 effect. In fact, the figures today are not at all bad. But they have to cash in on Odsonne Edouard at the end of the season, otherwise, it’s maladministration.”

Co pundit, Alex Rae agreed with Keevins and did say that he had no issue with the big Frenchman working his ticket out of Paradise, “I have not issues with it at all. When in my last season for Wolves you’re obviously going to come in towards the end of contract and you’re trying to manufacture a good season and manufacture and move out the door. If they don’t give you a new contract and that’s what happened me so I don’t have any issues with Edouard doing that.”
