Striker Gary Hooper has rejected what he believes is Celtic’s ‘final’ offer of an extension to his contract.

The 24-year-old netted his twentieth goal of the season at the weekend after being the subject of an unsuccessful £5m bid from Norwich City earlier in the week.

Hooper has now scored seventy goals for Celtic since originally arriving in a £2.4m deal from Scunthorpe United in July 2010.

He agreed a four-year deal at the time and as a result is still under contract with the Scottish champions until the summer of 2014.

Earlier this week Celtic’s assistant manager Johan Mjallby said he believed that Hooper would remain with the club until at least the summer.
