Hoops fans asking questions of Lennon with disappearance of £3.5m man

Neil Lennon returned to his now tried and tested 3-5-2 formation against Hearts after giving the second string a run out against Clyde in the 3-0 win at the weekend in a 4-2-3-1 shape.

On-fire duo Leigh Griffiths and Odsonne Edouard returned to the starting line-up after their relentless start to 2020 in which the have won every game and scoring three or more goals on every occasion except one and tore Hearts to shreds in an emphatic display.

Boli Bolingoli can count himself unlucky having impressed at the weekend with Greg Taylor reclaiming his left wing-back berth, James Forrest would supply the ammunition from the other flank.

With Ryan Christie and Mohamed Elyounoussi both now fit there had been speculation as to which way Lennon would start but now appears to have nailed his colours to the mast of the strike pairing of Griffiths and Edouard, and given their form, you can’t exactly blame him.

Celtic fans took to Twitter when the team was announced delighted to see the return of the dynamic duo leading the line once again but concerned that one of their newest recruits appears to have been jettisoned already.

Klimala hasn’t had a lot of action but has yet to impress and with Vakoun Issouff Bayo scoring at the weekend he has edged himself in front of the Polish under-21 international for a spot on the bench, given Celtic’s form, Lennon certainly shouldn’t be having his team selections questioned.
