Hoops legend makes Celtic European super club claim and gives rivals a financial reality check

The truth is sometimes hard to accept. And this is a truth that our rivals will need to get a hold of pretty quickly.
As Celtic continue to dominate Scottish football, Ange Postecoglou is in a fantastic position to strengthen in the summer in order to take the club onto the next level.
Financially, we are the most stable we have ever been for as long as I can remember. On the pitch, we are stronger. And it is just going to get better.
Guaranteed Champions League group stage football next season means that this seasons league winners are guaranteed at least £30m before a ball is even kicked.
What that does for our club (if we win it) is astronomical.
And Paul Lambert has made a statement that will make our Glasgow rivals shudder.
Speaking to the Daily Record, Lambert said, “Celtic are much stronger than Rangers commercially and that’s important.
“The structure is sound, they have better merchandising and sponsorship deals so they’re flying on and off the field.
“That financial gap will only increase if Celtic get into the new-look Champions League next season – with four guaranteed home games and all the extra TV and UEFA revenue which comes with it – and Rangers miss out. Michael Beale has a big rebuild to do at Ibrox and, with Rangers on a UEFA watchlist over Financial Sustainability regulations, they’ll be limited as to how much they can spend.
“So he needs to get every new signing spot on just to try and keep up with them. Rangers outspent Celtic for many years but now it’s the other way round. For Celtic, though, the potential is there for them to become a European super club. They could be a real monster if they get things going and the manager keeps on doing what he’s doing.”
Better in every department. Financially, on the pitch and behind the scenes we are more stable than any other club in Scotland.
We would pull away from everyone and be so far ahead, no one could catch us.
But a European super club?
That would be something else!
