The international break, thankfully, has come to an end and as we prepare for Scottish Cup duty tomorrow night, an amazing prediction was made by ex Celtic player Pat Nevin, which could net Celtic a cool £12m.

Nevin was waxing lyrical about former Hoops left back, Kieran Tierney, as the Scottish international shone on international duty last week after stunning performances against Austria, Israel and the Faroe Islands.

Tierney was involved in three of Scotland’s four goals against the Faroes and Nevin insists it is only a matter of time before clubs like Chelsea and Manchester City come calling and smash the record £80m fee paid for a defender, “There are only two players in Scottish football that I’ve ever urged Chelsea to sign. One was Virgil Van Dijk, the other was KT.

“KT could go anywhere with his career, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he became the world’s most expensive defender.

“If Manchester City could sign him tomorrow then they would.

Should Eddie Howe replace Neil Lennon?

YES

NO

“The players in that role currently for City — Benjamin Mendy and Oleksandr Zinchenko — are nowhere near as good as he is.

“Kieran is a Pep Guardiola player. If he could sign Tierney and Erling Haaland, how good would City be then?”

Nevin is the second pundit to tip Tierney for a big money move and with a reported 15% sell on clause inserted into the Scottish international’s contract, Celtic could net a cool £12m if Nevin’s prediction comes true.
