As the next Celtic manager question is all but answered, Celtic now move into the stories of transfer speculation and who the incomings will be as well as the outgoings.
One name that seems to be an open secret to move on is Norwegian centre back, Kristoffer Ajer.
Ajer is just entering the last twelve months of his contract and with no extension getting signed anywhere in the future, it’s looking more likely that the 22 year old will be moving on in the summer.
One pundit and ex pro that is tipping Ajer for a move is The Go Radio Show’s Barry Ferguson who suggest that it may be best for both parties is Ajer moved on in the summer, “It wouldn’t surprise me, for the simple fact that he’s not signing an extension to his contract.
He’s coming in Final twelve months in the summer and I think the best thing for both parties, is to cash in and for Kristoffer Ajer to go elsewhere.
I think he does want to move because if you want to stay at a club you go and sign that extension. So I firmly believe that he will leave in the summer”
With Eddie Howe seemingly about to be unveiled as the next Hoops gaffer, will the Englishman’s appointment be enough to persuade Ajer to extend his contract and help Celtic regain their status as Scotland’s dominant team next season?
