“I disagree” – Andy Halliday makes outrageous Starfelt claim

I don’t even know where to start with this one to be honest.

Am I surprised that this is Halliday’s opinion on a Celtic player? No.

Everyone, and I mean everyone, felt the big Swede played a blinder on Sunday in the Glasgow Derby.

He was resolute, confident and composed.

Everyone thought he had one of his best Celtic games. Except Andy Halliday.

Speaking on Clyde 1, the Hearts man said, “Hugh mentioned that Starfelt and Carter-Vickers were terrific. I disagree.

“I don’t think Starfelt was terrific.

“I thought in the first half I thought he gave Rangers multiple chances. Four or five times he was caught in possession and I think it committed, I don’t know what the exact number was, but seems as if he committed multiple fouls in the first half.

“I thought we defended this box very, very well in the second half.

“Carter-Vickers for me was very, very good.”

It was a completely unnecessary attack on a Celtic player that has been all too common in the media and pundits this season.

Not content at lambasting him for his performance against Hearts in the first game of the season, the pundits and media seem to take aim on the big defender after all the big games and it is completely unnecessary.

It’s time to let this nonsense go.

Give the guy some credit and praise for his part in what is becoming a sensational season for Celtic this year.
