Two major transfer rumours in two days means that Celtic are clearly looking to tie up some early business  before the transfer window opens up in January.

With Fernando Henrique and Daizen Maeda both strongly linked with moves to Celtic Park when the winter window opens, it looks like what is traditionally a quite transfer window for the Hoops, may turn out to be a fairly robust and busy one.

Celtic boss, Ange Postecoglou was asked mainly about the Maeda transfer rumour in this afternoons pre match press conference and he dropped a little teaser of where the club is looking and where they are at with regards to January moves, “I can neither confirm or deny.

“There is no doubt the Japanese league is one I know well, I have an advantage there.

“Obviously I know Daizen well, I was the one who brought him to Yokahama F Marinos but I can definitely confirm we are not in advance talks with anyone to sign anyone at the moment.

“We will be casting the net far and wide, we are not going to just limit it to the Japanese league.

“With the way we have started the season and how some of our younger players have been playing, we have become an attractive destination for players but I am not going to rush into that.”

What is interesting is that Postecoglou seemed to kind of backtrack on earlier comments in the year where he said he would focus on the Japanese market for future moves. Could this mean that the Fernando Henrique rumour has some legs in it?
