With Celtic strengthening in this transfer window, the likelihood of more bodies coming to Glasgow’s east end is are very high as Ange Postecoglou looks to strengthen the squad for the title run in.

It was widely known that a massive rebuilding job was required and when Ange Postecoglou took over, first team ready players were a priority as the squad was, and still is, thin in experience and quality.

But even with that cloud, there was a silver lining as Postecoglou turned to the B team to help the side through the current injury crisis.

And even before injuries hit, the youths at Celtic were still given a chance to shine as has been witnessed with Adam Montgomery, Dane Murray, Stephen Welsh and Joey Dawson have all made first team appearances this season.

Which makes Hugh Keevins statement on Celtic’s signing policy and youth policy all the more puzzling.

Speaking on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, Keevins said, “I just wonder if the Celtic fans are interested in that aspect of the business?

“Ewan Henderson who, I think, is a fine young player, gone to Hibs until the end of the season on loan but will sign the three year contract after that.

“Liam Shaw who’s played twice for the first team this season. Off to Motherwell.

“If you’re a young man going into Celtic and that there’s talk of Johnny Kenny coming in from Sligo Rovers, a striker for £125,000.

“You would like to think that players, other than players coming in from Asia and wherever else Ange Postecoglou has in mind to bring in players, the young element would like to think that they still have a chance of progression to the first team.”

I guess Hugh also missed out the fact that Celtic’s youth policy also lead to James Forrest, Callum McGregor, Conor Hazard, Anthony Ralston and Mikey Johnson progressing to the first team as well?

Must have slipped his mind.

Non-journalists and pundits who only spout bile based on their bigotry and bias aren’t worth the read or the ear.
I can honestly say that every time I see or hear of Keevins, I don’t waste my time reading his input. I do though have great memories of something he will obviously never forget, or forgive I imagine.
That day he spoke out of turn accusing Big Billy McNeill of something and Cesar decked him. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I will read and listen to mant pundits and journalists, but not this bigot, or bitter people like Charlie Nicholas, Davie Provan, Andy Walker and to a lesser extent, Kris Commons. This group all bear a grudge with the club and it comes out every time they open their mouths.
Ironically, they each have only themselves to blame. They were nothing before Celtic and their infantile mentality means they are back to being nothing after Celtic either.

Auld Spew Heavins clearly suffers from dementia. Despite this he still draws down a wage from Clyde.

Nice work if you can get it.

The thing that has me gobsmacked is the fact that neither Hugh Keevins, nor the person who wrote this article seem to be mentally acute enough to realise that **millions of Japanese football fans** are now reading every one of these appalling, blatantly racist comments, and basing their views of Scotland, the SPL and the whole of Scottish football on what they see.

For me personally, it is nothing new. But it might be a good time for every player, coach, pundit, announcer and news organization in Scotland to WAKE THE *F* UP and realise that PEOPLE ARE WATCHING.

And if embarrassment isnt enough to give you pause, you might consider that nobody goes out and buys merchandise or pays to watch a club/league that is so openly tolerant of racism.

      Hi,
